About The Track
Based in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Bakarii brings a young and refreshing energy to the music scene. His eclectic background includes growing up overseas and calling many countries such as France, Spain, and more “home”. The result is a unique sound influenced by a global variety of genres and artists, ranging from Hip Hop and R&B all the way to Afrobeat and Fusion.
In his brand new single Unilingual (feat. Obi Original), Bakarii exemplifies his cultural fusion by blending Afro-Hispanic melodies and cadences to send the listener on a psychedelic journey. Bakarii’s reverberated voice persists throughout the track giving the song a trancelike sonic environment. The concept of “Unilingual” comes from the imagery of a man only knowing of a woman speaking one language: body language.
Unilingual (feat. Obi Original) is due to be released on the 29th of February with a video to accompany it, shot and directed by Jonny Stuckmeyer.
